For Wine Lovers, This Event in Burgundy is a Must

..The Saint-Vincent Tournante Festival

Wine aficionados, take note: Burgundy is holding one of its most emblematic annual festivals over the weekend of 27-28 January. The Saint-Vincent Tournante Festival pays tribute to the eponymous patron saint of wine, and offers a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the centuries-long secrets of Burgundy wine-making.

Held every year at the end of January, the event honours a particular wine-making “appellation” in Burgundy each time, presided over by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, an order created in 1934 whose mission is to promote and encourage the development of the region’s exceptional wines.

In 2018, the producers of the Cru Saint-Véran are in the spotlight, celebrated for their golden white wines with complex fruity, buttery and spicy notes. Festivities will take place in the town of Prisse, only 7 km from the popular wine-growing hub and town of Macon.

Wine tastings and cellar visits, live music, and colourful processions that seem to belong to the medieval era await visitors at the festival next weekend. We think it’s an experience that should certainly be on your luxury travel bucket list, so if you’re lucky enough to be in France, why not make a little detour to experience it?
